Event details: Three Separate Topics Inspecting 19th Century Townhouses and Brownstones Presented By: Lawrence Ubell, Certified ASHI Inspector & Co-host of nationally syndicated radio show on NPR. Due to the continuing trend to rehabilitate and restore 19th century row houses in the Northeast, the need for the home inspector to have a working knowledge of these structures is essential. This course will step through the process of inspecting these townhouses and brownstones, focusing on the unique issues that plague these buildings; such as structural, plumbing, heating, exterior facade, ventilation, foundation and electrical concerns. AND ALSO Fundamentals of Heat Pumps Presented By: Michael D. Conley, ASHI National presenter This course will cover the concept of heat pumps and compare a heat pump to a traditional central air conditioning system. We will discuss how a heat pump works, the purpose of heat strips, and the concept of refrigerant heat transfer. AND ALSO Fundamentals of Plumbing Systems Presented By: Michael D. Conley, ASHI National presenter This course will cover supply and waste systems. We will discuss how both systems operate and how they have evlolved over the years.
